This amazing bike food tour is designed for food & cycling lovers and includes 5 different sample tastings from 5 different locations in a 4 hours and 10 km bike ride!
We will make stops at some of the best local food places in Athens. With our bikes we will be able to cover more ground than walking, so this tour includes the amazing experience of getting outside the city centre boundaries and explore local neighbourhoods and eateries off the beaten path.
A delicious bike food tour to discover the best culinary spots in the city. You will get a real taste of Athens as your expert local tour leader will guide you to places we love to eat & drink!
Equipped with a comfortable bike for a relaxed and enjoyable ride and escorted by an expert local tour leader, we will begin the exploration of the city passing by the new Acropolis Museum, with a great panoramic view to the Parthenon and the Acropolis.
Having the privilege of riding a bike, we will get off the city center and through a safe bike path we will explore urban neighbourhoods that most tourists never reach. Our first stop will be at a traditional local pastry shop to taste the traditional bougatsa pie! You can check out how the bougatsa pie is made from the traditional pastry chefs! Words cannot describe how tasty it is, in any variation, from savoury to sweet!
We will continue exploring the suburbs of the city on our way to the second stop. There, we will try the traditional greek sesame – seed bread ring, the famous “koulouri”, our “eating-on-the-go” breakfast!
Our next stop is in the scenic neighbourhood of Plaka. There, we will visit a restaurant for a sample tasting of the most iconic greek dishes, enjoying at the same time the most famous greek aperitif, ouzo! Yammas!
But what is a Greek food tour without souvlaki? Souvlaki, this delicious wrap is the king of street food in Athens and you can taste it in many different versions. Our next stop is in the vibrant neighbourhood of Monastiraki, where the most traditional souvlaki grill restaurants are located. In order to reach the area, we will drop off the bikes and make a 5-minute walk, passing by Pandrossou street, the main souvenirs street of Athens.
As we are heading towards the end of the tour we will seek for the best ice-cream in town in a famous gelateria, giving this tour a “sweet-ending”.
By the end of the tour, you will have seen a very interesting part of the city center and the suburbs riding next to all the important monuments and you will also have got an overall idea about the passion that we Greeks have for our food!

Whenever we’re visiting a new city we always do a bike tour and a food tour! While browsing through the website of Athens by bike, we saw that they are offering a bike and food tour, so without hesitation, we went on and booked it! It was simply amazing! Not only did we get to ride around Athens and explore it on their great bikes, but also we made plenty of stops to eat and drink local delicacies! Our food expert/ tour leader was fun and engaging and he knew all the cool spots for nice photos! Great experience, would definitely recommend it!
Bikes in great shape, safe route, awesome local food choices, fun ride! If you are visiting Athens and you want to do a food tour, I would highly recommend this one! You’ll realise that cycling(at a slow pace) is actually easier than walking when your stomach is full with great Greek food! The tour leader was great and kept the whole group entertained during the ride and the stops! I think I’m spoiled now and I’ll go for a bike and food tour in any city I’m going to visit in the future!
It was my second time in Athens and I only had one day before going to Santorini. I wanted to do a bike tour because last time I only did a bus tour and I wanted to “feel” Athens a bit more. When I walked in the shop to book it, I saw the option of the bike and food tour and I chose that as I’m a bit of a foodie! Fun tour, good quality bikes and great experience overall! Our tour leader knew all the places to go for Greek food and really enjoy every little bite! Best Greek salad I’ve ever tried! Next year when I’m coming back with my family, I’m doing it again!
This tour was the highlight of our trip in Athens! The food and drinks that we had were awesome! Our tour leader kept us safe during the ride and made sure to stop at the best locations for photos! Great bikes in great condition and the route was away from traffic, which, before starting the tour, seemed quite hard to accomplish. Would recommend this one to anyone who knows how to ride a bike and loves to try local things! Make sure you go there hungry, they’ll take good care of you!
