Our Athens Coastal tour starts from the biggest pedestrian street of Athens, located a stone’s throw away from Acropolis, where you will have a short introduction about the tour’s schedule.
Equipped with a comfortable bike for a relaxed and enjoyable tour, we will start our cycling through the scenic neighborhood of Plaka. On our way to the Roman Agora, we will enjoy a marvelous view of the Acropolis. The lovely neighborhood of Thission and the Ancient Greek cemetery of Kerameikos will be the last landmarks of the historic center.
Then, we will get on a bike path that leads to the coastline, through some urban and picturesque neighborhoods of Athens: Petralona, Kallithea and Moschato. After about 45 minutes cycling on a flat terrain, we will reach the southern suburbs. One of the highlights of this trip is the visit to Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, a masterpiece of modern architecture. The Foundation hosts the new National Library and the new National Opera House.
Our Athens Coastal tour will continue by crossing the Naval Museum & the Flisvos Marina, where the luxurious speed boats and yachts are docked. Enjoying the refreshing sea breeze of the Athenian Riviera, we finally arrive at Alimos Marina.
Half-way through the tour, we will stop for a well-earned 30-minute break at a nice sandy beach, where you can either enjoy swimming or have a drink/refreshment at a beach bar.
After the refreshing break, we will start cycling back towards the city center. Before completing the tour, we will lead you to one of the best places in Athens to taste some delicious handmade local pastries. This tour will help you gain a great overall impression of the city and its suburbs.
Enjoy the sea breeze and explore Athens from a different point of view cycling along the coast and admire the deep blue water of the Saronic gulf. Our coastal tour starts and ends at the city center.

Dimitris guided my teenage son and I and a few more guests on a lovely gentle bike ride through some of the sites and neighbourhoods surrounding the Acropolis, and then along a bike route out to the coast. It offered a different perspective on this great city and plenty of great photo spots coming from Dimitris – personable, fun, and a very good choice to spend a morning with. Bikes were good quality and well-maintained. Helmets were clean. Shop was easy to find. Timings were accurate. Really good experience all round.
Thank you from us both!
We had a brilliant time cycling with our tour leader Kostas who gave us an invaluable insight into the best parts of Athens. We were able to take away his recommendations on where to go and what to see, which has made our whole holiday more enjoyable. Seeing parts of the city we would not have visited and spending time at the beach and marina showed the vast contrast of Athens at its best. Don’t visit Athens without booking a tour with these guys and you will be extremely happy if Kostas is your guide, he is amazing!
We did the coastal tour with Dimitris and we got to see many sites in and around Plaka and then continued to the coast. Dimitris stopped many times to help us take great photos. We stopped at the beach for a dip in the Aegean Sea and he also took us to see the fabulous new Opera building. On the way back we devoured some snacks at a Greek bakery. Dimitris also gave us advice on what to do and where to eat during the rest of our vacation. This was a highlight of our time in Athens!
Just a short note to describe our tour; our tour leader Sapfo was very enthusiastic and did a great job in directing traffic to ensure that we had a very safe and comfortable ride through Athens. Because of the tour we were able to experience the beach life of Athens and to see the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Sapfo provided us with suggestions for our current visit in Athens and future trips to the Greek Islands. We enjoyed the stop for fresh Greek pasties. The bikes were comfortable and easy to adapt to.
